MIPIM 2012 is fast approaching and RICS is planning an extensive and varied programme in Cannes. The MIPIM property forum serves as a barometer of not just the global real estate sector but also the general economic climate. MIPIM allows property professionals to discover the most promising projects, gain critical industry insight and meet the world’s most influential real estate players. With over 4,000 investors and 16,000 participants expected to attend, an intensive four days (6 - 9 March) of real estate business is foreseen.
The country of honour this year will be Germany and naturally a high profile German presence at this year's event is anticipated. With the strongest economy in the Eurozone, Germany remains the largest market in continental Europe and pivotal to real estate markets overall.
As a key industry player, RICS will once again have a high profile presence in Cannes:
-
from Tuesday to Friday we invite attandees to visit our stand in the Riviera Hall (R29.32), where a lounge and business area will be made available exclusively for RICS members
-
we shall be hosting a conference on Wednesday 7 March 2012 from 14:30 in the Gaudi room (level 1 of the Palais des Festivals). The conference programme will cover corporate occupiers’ changing demands and how the real estate sector can take advantage of these trends. Speakers at the conference include Hugh Kelly of the New York University and Nicole Escue of Morgan Stanley. The moderator will be RICS president See Lian Ong FRICS. Full programme details and further information on this conference are available here
The RICS Leadership Team will be well represented at MIPIM, with RICS President See Lian Ong FRICS and RICS President-Elect Alan Collett FRICS in attendance. Vice Presidents Louise Brooke-Smith FRICS and Martin Brühl FRICS will also be present, along with Chief Executive Sean Tompkins FRICS.
Liliane Van Cauwenbergh, Managing Director of RICS EMEA shall also be in Cannes, accompanied by RICS Fance Country Manager Marc Menagé MRICS and various other European country managers. A series of meetings with property organisations, institutions and firms from around the world have been planned to discuss current trends and RICS' role in the property sector.
