New OLA courses

The RICS Online Academy has increased the number of courses with new interesting additions. Aiming to provide training to RICS members independently of their location, OLA offers courses that range from almost a year to 1 hour webinars.

Amongst the free introductory courses members can follow now ‘Introduction to BIM’ (Building Information Modelling, tipped to be the next big thing in the management of built assets) and the advantages it provides to professionals or an ‘Introduction to New Rules of Measurement (NRM) in construction’  from  courses on Professional Ethics , a useful basic guide to RICS Ethics and Rules of Conduct, to the 3 courses on Valuation, an overview of the main principles behind a valuation.

Amongst the podcasts, the OLA forthcoming events range from a podcast on the REABS (Real Estate Agency and Brokerage Standards) 12of Jan, to Working with Fidic (10 of Jan),  Facilities Management  (18th Jan) , Lease Accounting on the move (18th jan) ,  Delivering Busines Valuations in volatile markets .Podcasts are priced at between £25 to £29.

At the higher end, offering 200 hours of classes over a six month period, RICS and CEM have teamed up to offer a series of courses ranging from Project Management to Valuation or Quantity Surveying.
