RICS at MIPIM 2010 (Our stand is at R31.39 (first floor) from Tuesday 09:00 to Friday 15:00)

This year, once again, RICS will be present at MIPIM, to represent the largest organisation of property professionals worldwide. On this occasion and after a difficult and challenging year for the property sector, RICS is looking forward to contribute to generate discussion and examine today’s global real estate trends and future challenges. With this in mind RICS will provide Intellectual input into the MIPIM conference programme with two seminars.

On Thursday, 18 March, from 12:00-13:00, RICS has organised a conference entitled 'Recovery in Real Estate - diverging global trends', based on the results of its quarterly Global Commercial Property Survey. At the same time, RICS will insist on the ways that cities can effectively plan and integrate essential infrastructure for the future with the conference 'Spotting the trends: shaping the cities of the future' on Tuesday afternoon. Cities are continually changing, and the challenge is to plan and deliver infrastructure that is shaped by and contributes to, evolving flows of people and activity.

At the seminar RICS will launch its Vision for Cities of 2030 project, which examines the principles adopted by leading cities in planning and delivering sustainable infrastructure for their cities of the future.

Furthermore, RICS will unveil at MIPIM the results of its “European Property Market Remuneration Survey” with the aim to portray the latest trends on property remuneration across Europe' in the most comprehensive statistical survey of its kind. This year almost 1200 respondents have contributed to the survey.

As usual RICS will be represented by a delegation of senior members, including the RICS President Max Crofts FRICS (who is on the MIPIM Awards jury and the Speed Matching Jury), the President Elect Robert Peto FRICS, the Chairman of RICS Europe Luciano Capaldo FRICS, the Chairman of RICS France Pascal Plotegher FRICS, and the Chairman of RICS Polska Jonathan Steer FRICS. Also, the Chief Executive, Louis Armstrong, the Managing Director of RICS Europe Liliane Van Cauwenbergh, and other key staff will be in attendance.

RICS will again offer an active programme organising two conferences, having a stand welcoming members and other professionals alike (R31.39) and a serviced Members' Lounge.

As Poland is the Guest of Honour this year we are keen to demonstrate that members of the RICS are active in Poland and we are seeking members who are willing to help man our stand.  We already have a number of volunteers, namely Jonathan Steer FRICS, David Brittain FRICS, John Palmer MRICS, Chris Grzesik FRICS, Marta Jurek-Maciak MRICS and Patrick O’Gorman MRICS. Those interested please email David Brittain FRICS at david.brittain@target-projects.com.pl before this Wednesday.

Finally, we would like to draw your attention to The “Europaproperty Poland Breakfast Forum”, Poland’s premier event during the MIPIM, which takes place on the second day of the fair - March 17 – 8:00-12:00 at the Martinez Hotel. The forum promises to be a must attend highlight of this year’s MIPIM incorporating business-to-business meetings with international property investors, developers and international key decision makers from the industry.
