Successful mainstreaming of sustainability in the built environment will largely depend on the ability to illustrate the business case that sustainable buildings actually yield higher economic value than their unsustainable counterparts. Targeted measures such as improving data transparency are needed that allow for describing, assessing and communicating their financial outperformance. One key element will be the integration of sustainability issues within existing property valuation methods and practices.
Against this background, this special forum will address the following issues:
-
How to bridge the gap between environmental, social, and economic aspects of property value?
-
How to equip valuation professionals and investors with the right skills and guidance to fully integrate sustainability principles into valuation, asset management and investment decision making?
