New RICS Professional Group established - Corporate Real Estate Management
printThe newest RICS professional group, Corporate Real Estate Management (CREM), was formed in 2011, with the goal of focusing on owner occupied properties. Although comprising more than half of all commercial real estate in Europe, management of corporate real estate has received less attention than investment properties in the past. The present economic crisis has forced companies to re-evaluate their real estate portfolios for efficiency gains, and this group’s aim is to assist members and non-member professionals working in this field.
The group is comprised of fifteen asset, property and facility managers, valuers and other property consultants, as well as managers already working with corporate real estate.
The CREM group has identified the following new, but complex areas it wishes to focus on:
- Strategy formulation
- Portfolio planning
- Asset management
- Property management
- Project management
- Financial consulting
- Workflow implementation (including IT consulting)
- Outsourcing
To learn more about CREM and our mission statement, please read the attached documents.
Any members interested in joining the group and attending the next meeting should send an email to Anna Orcsik (aorcsik@rics.org) before 15 December 2011.
