RICS, co-chair of the European Housing Forum, invites you to participate in the 2011 lecture series titled “Affordable housing for all – policy implications of shrinking budgets”, taking place in Brussels.
In the aftermath of the financial crisis and state interventions, governments across Europe are looking at ways to control public spending. Policy measures are under increased scrutiny, both at national and at European level.
After the successful lecture series in 2010, resulting in a recommendations paper titled “Changing Lifestyles, Changing Climate – the role of housing in the EU”, the EHF is once again organising a series of 4 afternoon lectures.
This time, we will debate the impact of (changing) policy requirements on housing markets.
We have four thought provoking lectures on offer:
• 24 May 2011 – “Good housing for all: cities as frontrunners, or under pressure?”; Dipl.-Ing. Heidrun Feigelfeld
• 21 June 2011 – “Shaping or shadowing? Understanding and responding to housing market change”; Professor Ian Cole
• 6 September 2011 – “Freedom of choice? The role of policy in choosing living arrangements”; Professor Marja Elsinga
• 11 October 2011 – “Privatisation of housing stock in Europe – implications for policy”; Professor Vincent Gruis
