  1. What happens if I do not pay the fee?
The fee will remain as a debt until lapsing of membership takes place on 30 April 2012.

  2. Will I be removed from RICS membership for non-payment of subscriptions?
    Yes. See Regulation R4.4.2 below.

R4.4.2 Where a member does not comply with any requirement imposed upon him under R4.4.1 and with the approval in advance of the Management Board, the Chief Executive may:
    (a) pursue court action for payment of the sums owed to RICS; and/or
    (b) remove the member from membership of RICS.

  3. When must the payment arrive in order not to incur the late payment fee?
The membership renewal notices are sent out at the beginning of November to allow time to arrange for payment by 1 January. Membership fees outstanding as of 6 April 2012 have to pay the late payment fee of Euro 105,80.
Payments must be received before the lapse date of 30 April 2012.

  4. If my membership has lapsed why do I have to pay a re-admission fee?
If your membership has lapsed you will need to pay a re-admission fee in accordance with the RICS regulations. All members in this position must pay before the membership may again become active. Please note the fee is payable in full.

If your membership lapses for a period of 3 months or more, you are required to go through a re-admission process. This involves the completion of application forms and a series of checks by our compliance and conduct teams; this may take 4-6 weeks to process.

  5. What is the fee to be re-admitted to RICS membership for non-payment of subscriptions?
The fee depends upon your membership status.

For qualified members the re-admission fee for 2012 is 100% of the subscription due. For RICS trainee, the reinstatement fee for 2012 is 50% of the subscription due.

  6. How do I resign my membership?
We can only accept your resignation in writing to the following address:
    RICS Contact Centre,
    Surveyor Court,
    Westwood Way,
    Coventry, CV4 8JE,
    United Kingdom.

Please note that you will be contacted by a member of RICS Membership Operations.
They will discuss with you the reason for resignation and ask you to undertake an end of membership survey to identify potential service improvements for the future.
