Dear Colleague,

RICS Hungary Sentiment Survey H1 2012 -- in co-operation with Portfolio.hu

Following a successful first publication in January, we are now working to continue the series. You are invited to participate in the next round of the RICS Hungary Sentiment Survey.

We ask you to complete the questionnaire by Friday, 18 May the latest, enabling us to present our findings before the Summer holidays. It should take only a few minutes and can be done online.

Note to those of you specialising in leasing office, retail or industrial space: most of you only deal with a few of our property categories and may thus feel it is not worth the effort. In fact, even if you say “I don’t know” to 90% of the questions, your knowledge about your specific market is invaluable and we kindly ask you to answer those that you feel comfortable with.

Background:

About six months ago, we were very excited about our new RICS Hungary Sentiment Survey. Also, we were a bit nervous. What if we don’t receive enough responses? Then, what if people will find our product to be of little use?

All that anxiety was gradually replaced by pride. Not only did we get a perfectly sufficient number of responses - most of them came from seasoned members. For the sake of some hard hitting statistics here, the combined real estate experience of our respondents was well over 500 years! When presented, the results were also very well received by the public. Many thanks for having spared a few minutes and sharing your views with us. You will find summaries here: http://www.joinricsineurope.eu/en/na/view/rics-magyarorszag/news/rics-portfolio-survey-1046

Half a year has gone - and a lot did happen in those six months! We will now be able to compare your sentiment with that seen in the first round and are eager to see how events such as the downgrading of Hungary’s debt or Heitman’s office acquisitions are reflected in your responses.

Many thanks for your contribution and I look forward to discussing our newest findings with you.

All the best,

Krisztian Hornok MRICS

Member of the RICS Hungary Board
